(My) Black Friday

At just before close of play today our MD is sending out letters and emails to our entire workforce to give them the news we are making a third of them redundant. Happy weekend everyone.

I will be fine. Hey, I’m only doing the work of 3 people so I’m sure I can pick up the slack when we chop a few heads in my department. On the flip side we have grown a pair and are telling two huge customers to go do one. Culling this work and cutting costs should see us start turning profits again – one day! In the meantime I guess I’m going to have to learn to make my own coffee or work out a complicated EV calculation of taking voluntary redundancy.

On the poker front I’ve been flitting here and there. I cleared my bonus at Full Tilt by donking around at Rush. Turned a nice profit too. And received my cash out the same day. Run good or what?

I’ve also played a bit back on ipoker, a bit more on Stars, cleared my entraction account and opened an account on Merge. It’s mostly going well. I have somehow turned into a 28/24 agro monkey preflop (sometimes worse than that too). It’s something I’ll have to tone down a bit. Most importantly I need to find a settled home for a while with a decent 200nl player pool.

In other news our second snooker season has finished. We won our division by a country mile. I think we’re going to have one more crack at it next year in slightly better company. I might even have to practice a bit.

The more important game involving potting balls – pool – is also going swimmingly. Despite a couple of hiccups we’re top of the league again and its in our hands. I’m just coming into form (I hope) and knocked in the perfect set last week – one break and dish and two clearances off their break. I was out of position once so will have to rectify that tardiness!

Back to it. The company wont run itself you know.
