Its update time at last. The lack of posts has been due to the lack of poker being played. I have mitigation though:

The football season has started. Watching dodgy internet streams has got to come in front of poker yeah?

I’ve been on holiday. Taking a laptop on holiday would lead to divorce, so I mark this down as a good reason.

I’ve been pished. Work has been sh!te so have ‘wasted’ a few evenings just chilling with a glass of vino. In addition, with the pool season in full flow every Sunday night is a wash-out now as me and the boys attempt to outdrink and outplay every other team (we’re top of the league at the moment losing just one match which I couldn’t attend).

I’ve stopped running like god. The few thousand hands of 200nl I’ve played have been pretty brutal ~ you know the score: KK into Aces, AK doesn’t win a flip, QQ see’s an AKx flop everytime, blah blah blah. This has made for a pretty sucky month so far as I’ve nitted up to ride it out and played bad as a result. It’s so annoying to see spew all around you and not be on the receiving end of such donations (actually big shout to the ‘reg’ who 3 barrelled his K high into my nuts on a Q2447 board for the brightest moment of my month, mucho gracios).

As I write this post I’m finishing a third successive day at work. What’s so unusual about that? Well I actually had this week booked off FML. So I’ve been busting my balls doing 2, sometimes 3, occasionally 4 peoples work. Today I even googled “Statutory Redundancy Calculator”. We downsized last year and it was offered to all. Sadly the job market was a bit “meh” at the time. It isn’t anymore and I’ve got more experience than you can wave a stick at. On the plus side, I have accrued a serious amount of holiday. I've got a possible use for some of it... a 10 day Vipissana meditation course that a guy in my chess team (yes, chess team - don't snigger) has recently completed and recommends as a must. Not sure how I can disappear for 10 days with my current schedule but its something that is very very interesting so watch this space.

Anyways, I’m off to Sandown tomorrow to spunk my cash on the gee-gee’s. Doubt anyone will do my job whilst I’m off though.
